What is K9 Nose Work®

Inspired by working detection dogs, K9 Nose Work® was founded in the USA to bring wonderful scent games to canines and their guardians all over the world!

In nose work, the dynamic between dog and handler transcends traditional roles. Unlike other dog sports where the human dictates every move, nose work empowers the dog to take the lead, using their innate scenting abilities to solve intricate puzzles and uncover hidden treasures.

Imagine the exhilaration as your canine companion eagerly navigates the scent trail, seeking out each elusive target with determination and enthusiasm.

“The Game”

Nose work is a game we can all play with our dogs.

We teach our dogs to use their built-in ability to hunt. We make it fun and safe for EVERY dog. For some, one course is enough to show the benefits and they can then play at home, out and about, on holidays, anywhere.

For others, it’s addictive and go on to compete as a team with their dogs as a sport. Either is fine as long as you are having FUN with your dog!!!

Who can participate?

If your dog has a nose they can play nose work!

The game was designed to help shelter dogs. It was shown to help their stress levels and confidence. Dogs with disabilities can play. Seniors can play. Young dogs with loads of energy can play. There are no limitations!

I compete with my deaf dog and he loves it. Using their brain gives them an outlet for that energy and it builds the bond with their owner as well meaning training is happening.
